Vietnam's energy demand is growing at a rate of 17% annually, with the largest increase in ASEAN; one of the Southeast Asian countries with the richest clean energy reserves, such as solar/wind energy; annual sunshine time 2000-2500 hours, 5 kWh per square meter per day; Coastline Length 3260 kilometers, wind energy reserves up to 24 gigawatts per year; water energy is abundant and hydropower stations generate electricity every year. The rate is over 4000MW; biomass energy is about 75 million tons per year, generating power is up to 5,000 MW; solar power generation system is used by nearly 50,000 households and institutions; new energy electric vehicles have 3 million units, and nearly 1 million units have been sold in recent years; the Paris Agreement entered into force, and Vietnam has promised to add 5 GW photovoltaic capacity by 2020; and the government announced in 2016. Bu no longer builds new coal-fired thermal power plants, and establishes electricity retail market in 2020; concentrates on developing solar energy, wind energy, biogas, biomass energy and geothermal energy by 2025; aims to generate 20% of renewable energy by 2030; increases wind power to 1 million kW/2030 to 6.2 million kW; and invests in new projects in Vietnam. Energy power generation projects enjoy four exemptions, nine exemptions and half reduction of income tax; new energy technology transfer, equipment import, production and sales preferential tax treatment.



Vietnam International Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection and New Energy Industry Exhibition ENTECH is held by Vietnam Environmental Protection Administration and Vietnam Energy Efficiency Institute once a year. The exhibition is also a very important platform for enterprises to open up the Vietnamese market. Vietnam International Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection and New Energy Industry Exhibition ENTECH last attracted 500 exhibitors and businessmen. The number of people reached 20,000, and the exhibition was held by Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center in Saigon, Ho Chi Minh, covering an area of 10,000 square meters.
